About The Astrologer

Understanding one’s soul purpose and actualizing it has been a long and winding road for me. I have had several of what I call spiritual “loops.” Several times I have tried to insert myself into consensus reality through multiple careers, each ultimately ending through crisis or cataclysm. The most difficult loss was a family antique importing business that I grew as a part of and later inherited. I truly believed that work was my dharma. When it went away, I picked myself up, dusted myself off, retooled into a service career, and ran with it for 20+ years until it began to wither. In 2008, Pluto entered Capricorn and began its transit of my 5th house. I encountered the work of Jeffrey Wolf Green, and everything changed again.

It was my sophomore year of college when Uranus conjoined Pluto in 1967. It was also my nodal return. With all due respect to Timothy Leary, I was not only “there,” but I remember it…well, most of it, anyway. I embraced a lifestyle that believed psychedelic enlightenment was the medicine for the world’s ills. Interestingly, that concept is now at the cutting edge of medicine and psychology. These were transformational years for me. I had grown up mostly sheltered. Those liminal years transformed my perspective of the world around me and provided experiences that made me aware of the “parts” of myself that I never knew existed. In those years, a new worldview was revealed when I was introduced to the Wilhelm/Baynes edition of the I Ching.

That phase of my life ended in 1969, with potentially severe legal consequences as Uranus entered my 2nd house, Neptune entered my 4th house, and Saturn entered my 10th house. I withdrew from the alternative reality I had created and retreated to consensus reality. I married and raised two children.

I became involved with my family’s antique and artisan production import business from France and England. During those years, I spent considerable time in France and England, living as a local and enjoying the native culture. I was accepted by the Appraisers Association of America during those years.

In 1977, now in my 30’s, my son was born, and then my daughter in 1979. A friend began to teach me astrology and tarot. I began to read the work of Dane Rudhyar. I was already very comfortable with Carl Jung’s concept of synchronicity. The idea that a planet held a unique energy frequency resonated with me instantly, but the astrology lessons about a formulaic method of celestial dynamics did not resonate well. At any rate, I continued to study the work. I learned to erect a chart by hand and studied celebrity charts to learn to correlate the archetypal dynamics.

During that time, two events occurred that had a psychological effect. First, I sensed that my Fire grand trine (Moon, Jupiter, Pluto) in the water houses could be a signature of intuition and/or psychic ability. When I raised the question to my teacher, I was told flatly, “No, you are not that.” It was certainly not something that Virgo/Leo wanted to hear. A second incident also triggered self-doubt. My wife and I were friends with another couple in our Lamaze class. In the last term of her pregnancy, the friend lost the baby. I don’t remember the reason, but I had thought that I had seen something in the chart that correlated to the miscarriage. It knocked me off balance and I told myself that I didn’t want to know about “such things.”

For the next 35 years, I read Mountain Astrologer once in a while and followed Sun sign astrology columns. I had a basic handle on what my chart was about.

In the mid-1990s, Pluto began to dance with my 4th house cusp. I became a sysop in the New Age Forums of Compuserve. I worked with and interacted with a wide diversity of astrologers, tarot readers, Wiccans, UFOlogists, lucid dreamers, Seth readers, and others. I personally participated as a Seth reader.

During those years, I lost the family business I had loved since childhood. In 1996, the cataclysm brought me to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where I have lived ever since. I reinvented myself as a computer engineer. I went into the corporate world for a second time, garnered experience and training from Apple and Cisco, and earned five Microsoft certifications. I opened my own IT shop and supported many local businesses and private individuals. Internet Technology expresses my 10th house, Uranus, as it does Astrology. They are both technologies.

In 2009, a business colleague came for dinner and told me about a “life path reading” she had with Kim Marie Weimer. Two months later, I had a reading with her, then a second one, and as they say, the rest is history. In the following three years, I inhaled (yes, I inhaled) everything I could find written or spoken by JWG or one of his students.

2013 I participated in a weekend holistic fair in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The first person I read for told me she had many readings, but no one had told her what I had told her. Then she told me she was a medical intuitive. I was sure I would have been quite unsteady if she had told me that before. Over the next three days, I read for about 20 people, and almost everyone had a similar response. I have never looked back.

Over the years, I have continued my studies with the work of Liz Greene, Howard Sasportas, Rick Tarnas, Brian Clark, Mark Jones, Michael R. Meyer, Steven Forrest, Demetra George, and others. Fellow travelers on the path who have shared their insights with him include Kim Marie Weimer, Patricia Walsh, Rose Marcus, and personal friends Erin Sullivan and Arielle Guttman. For several years, I studied directly with Jason Holley, who was a close friend. Studying with Jason deepened my understanding of the interplay between astrology and mythology.

I have been immersed in the work of Carl Jung and James Hillman. Mary K. Greer has been the primary source of my work with Tarot. My current ongoing study of the Kabbalah Tree of Life, and numerology adds another dimension to my work and my ability to understand and share my life experiences about what he has learned in over seven decades on the planet.

I am an award-winning photographer. I cut my photo “teeth” in the darkroom and now work digitally. I am an organic gardener and herbalist. In my spare time, along with my longtime partner artist Susan Waller, I enjoy camping, hiking, trail biking, and rockhounding. I was instrumental in the establishment of the local Santa Fe NCGR chapter. Along with my partner Susan, I have organized psychic fairs in Santa Fe, New Mexico, bringing together metaphysical practitioners and the local community.

I bring all of this understanding to my readings. You may have had astrology readings before. Many of my clients have still tell me… “No one has told me that before.
