The Long Arc of Becoming

I didn’t seek out astrology; it found me. Quietly, yes—but with a peculiar sensation that my life had just taken a turn it was always destined to take. It began with a book about Leo that I discovered at a bookstore in New Jersey. Leo is my sun sign. At the time, I didn’t know much about astrology. The book was large, a coffee table edition, featuring a tawny lion on the cover. Something about that lion—its head turned, looking straight at me—captivated my attention. I thumbed through every page of that modern tome many times, intently trying to piece together the astrological puzzle that was me.

A few years later, at my first Saturn return, that quiet spark of curiosity flared into something undeniable. I enrolled in my first astrology class, and everything shifted. It felt less like learning and more like remembering—like something ancient and essential had stirred awake. The language of astrology didn’t just make sense to my mind; it vibrated through my being. When the teacher spoke of Mars as fiery and independent, I didn’t just hear it—I knew it. However, I also felt confined by the way astrology was often taught: a limited set of keywords applied like formulas, as if the soul could be reduced to flashcards. I sensed that astrology wasn’t meant to be memorized and repeated; it was meant to be felt, lived, and listened to. When the teacher began speaking of the planetary archetypes as living forces—dynamic, evolving, multidimensional—I finally felt at home.

But as always, life moved in its rhythm. I didn’t pursue it professionally—yet. I spent two decades in the burgeoning world of technology, trained on two platforms, Windows and Mac—like BenHur in a chariot race, one of the first IT professionals in Santa Fe. I excelled at it, and it paid the bills. However—the deeper call—the one awakened by that Leo book—never fully quieted down. When my second Saturn return arrived, it didn’t just stir old longings—it turned the wheel. A friend came to dinner one evening and mentioned an astrology reading she’d had. Something in her words lit a fuse. I asked for the astrologer’s name, and that’s how I found Kim Marie Weimer, then director of the Jeffrey Wolf Green School of Evolutionary Astrology. Two readings later, I was deep down the rabbit hole. Not just curious—claimed. I began reading and absorbing Jeffrey Wolf Green’s work, letting it seep into me like water into dry ground. As my confidence grew, I started offering readings—tentatively at first, then with increasing clarity. The more I practiced, the more the work came alive, as if the charts themselves were speaking through me.

My first public reading took place wasin 2013 at a psychic fair in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I remember sitting at my table—nervous, yes, but mostly ready. I trusted the charts to open the way, and they did.

The first person who sat down across from me listened with quiet intense focus. Then she paused,

“I am a medical intuitive.  Ive had many readings,” she said, “but no one has ever told me what you just told me.”

That moment was epic. It anchored something inside me—not just affirmation, but confirmation. It proved that when you trust the chart and let it speak without trying to control or perform, it can reach the soul. And when that happens, something real shifts.

Soon after, I began offering spontaneous fifteen-minute Pluto readings at the Santa Fe Artisan Market. The atmosphere was unpredictable—filled with noise, the rhythm of foot traffic, and distractions—but the questions felt raw, urgent, and alive.

It was there that I refined my instincts. I learned to follow the thread, speak from the core, and hold space for the soul’s unfolding. Time and again, I observed how what I said about Pluto pierced the surface and landed deep.

It wasn’t about prediction; it was about recognition. Something in them knew it was true.

I continued to immerse myself in the teachings of Jeffrey Wolf Green, supported by Kim Marie, whose clarity and heart-centered guidance helped steady and ground my path.

Alongside that foundation, I began weaving in threads from other voices—absorbing the wisdom of Liz Greene, Howard Sasportas, Mark Jones, Brian Clark, Patricia Walsh, Steven Forrest, and others. Each offered their unique lens and language for the soul’s journey. I wasn’t just gathering techniques; I was creating a tapestry. In 2017, during my second Saturn square, a mentorship with Jason Holley opened everything wide. Jason helped me connect astrology and mythology—not as metaphor, but as living reality. Through him, I realized that the chart was not merely a map or diagnostic tool—it was a mythic script, vibrant with story, memory, and possibility; a reflection of the soul’s becoming.

Eris declares:

And somewhere in the midst of all this, Eris arrived. Not through Jason. Not from a class or a textbook. I was simply, unmistakably drawn in—pulled in by the dramatic effects I noticed around me with increasing regularity.

I will not be ignored. I will not be diminished. I will not partake in deception.”

She arrived as she always does: uninvited, unapologetic, and utterly undeniable.

What began as a flicker of curiosity transformed into a calling. The deeper I delved—into her cycles, her symbolism, her fingerprints across charts and history—the clearer it became:
Eris is not a minor planet. She is a significant force in the evolution of consciousness.

She reveals what has been denied, distorted, or exiled—especially in the realm of the sacred feminine, both personal and collective. Eris doesn’t just stir the pot; she tips it over when it’s full of lies. She brings the truth to the surface, even if it shatters everything wide open.

So it was no surprise when I discovered that Eris is conjunct my natal Moon in the 8th House—a placement that reshaped not only how I viewed myself but also set me on a hero’s journey of descent, confrontation, and transformation.

This book is the culmination of years spent listening to her—reading charts, tracking transits, tracing patterns through myth and history, and witnessing her presence in the lives of those who bear her imprint. It combines astrology, invocation, analysis, and remembrance. Throughout this journey, I have been supported by the unwavering love and encouragement of my partner, Susan Waller, who believed in this path long before I fully embraced it. Her intuition, sharp perception, and deep grounding in the metaphysical have influenced this work in ways that words cannot express. If you’ve found your way here, perhaps Eris is already at work in your life.
Maybe she’s knocking—gently or with force.
Either way, know this: you’re not alone.

Her myth, discovery, and undeniable presence in the collective field point to a larger cycle of awakening. She began to appear repeatedly in the charts I sawof those challenging systems, speaking uncomfortable truths and standing at the thresholds of transformation. I realized I had to follow the thread; I needed to know more. This book culminates a long and transformative journey—one marked by wonder, disruption, devotion, and the courage to confront what most would rather leave unnamed.

It intertwines mythology, historical cycles, collective transformation, and astrological methodology to present Eris as a dynamic evolutionary archetype—one who speaks directly to the thresholds we currently face, both personally and globally. Within the framework of Evolutionary Astrology, Eris emerges not just as a disruptor but as a catalytic force—one who reveals hidden truths, challenges conditioned norms, and stimulates individuality and soul evolution.

The chapters that follow explore her mythic and astronomical origins, her natal expression by sign, house, and aspect, and her most significant transits—past, present, and future. Special emphasis is placed on our current era and its unprecedented nine squares to the U.S. Pluto from 2026 to 2030, examined through historical resonance and collective karmic dynamics.

Numerous case studies illustrate how Eris manifests across the evolutionary spectrum—from distortion to integration, encompassing angels and devils, saints and sinners. Whether you are honing your interpretive skills, broadening your client work, or responding to Eris’s summons in your own life, this book invites you to engage with her not as an outlier but as a vital archetype for these transformative times.
